Hi all, I'm about to embark on replacing the valve cover gaskets on my 2006 Grand Vitara 2.7 V6.
I have downloaded a service manual however there is no diagram or any reference to the valve cover in picture or writing form that I can find... I'm wondering what the torque specs and tightening sequence is for the valve covers and if any sealant is required in addition to the gasket?
Other than that the service manual seems to have all the required info for the job.
Thanks in advance!

You will need to add a small amount of sealant to the corners of the value cover gaskets. You will see 90 degree bends in the gasket that allow it to seal around the cam areas. That's a good location to add it.
I don't recall the torque spec off the top of my head but It was in the manual and I'll look it up if I get time.

I used this because I always have an extra tube from work but other stuff works as well.
Loctite makes this red sealant as well (2096059 518 Gasket Maker along with 37509 activator). It is a non-corrosive, anaerobic sealer. I usedit on front cover, pan and valve covers with good results. Has a 48hr cure time.
